Safety of acid electrolyzed water

Regarding the safety of acid electrolyzed water (hypochlorite water), a safety test was conducted at a facility designated by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and good results were obtained, and it was judged to be safer than general disinfectants. Below, we will introduce the results of tests on mice, etc. using hypochlorous acid water.

(1) Acute oral toxicity: mice were given 50 mg/kg, and no poisoning symptoms were observed.

(2) Repeated administration toxicity (subacute toxicity): Rats were given free food for 28 days, and general symptoms, hematology, biochemical and histopathological examinations were performed to confirm the effect. In addition, when the rats were allowed to eat freely for 3 months, a partial epithelial reaction was found in the oral tissue, but no other signs of toxicity were observed.

(3) Primary skin irritation and cumulative skin irritation: There was no change in the skin wounds of rabbits, and it was instilled once a day for 5 consecutive days. Repeated administration test (3 months) on the limbs of rats 30 times a day (immersion for 15 seconds or once for 30 seconds), skin changes and hematological, biochemical and histopathological observations, but no abnormal rats were found in the skin or the whole body.electrolyzed water machine - qinhuangwater

(4) Acute eye irritation: The cornea, iris, conjunctiva, etc. were not changed after 7 days of observation after the strong acid electrolyzed water was instilled.

(5) Skin sensitization: After injecting hypochlorous acid water into the corpus callosum of guinea pigs three times a week, skin changes (edema, erythema) were observed, but no changes were observed.

(6) Oral mucosal irritation: let hypochlorous acid water act on the cheek pouch of the hamster for 30 minutes under running water

These changes were examined macroscopically and histopathologically, but no changes were observed.

(1) Skin sensitization: After injecting hypochlorous acid water into the corpus callosum of guinea pigs three times a week, skin changes (edema, erythema) were observed, but no changes were observed.

(2) Oral mucosal irritation: Changes after hypochlorous acid water was applied to the cheek pouch of hamsters for 30 minutes, macroscopic and histopathological examination, but no changes were observed.

(3) Esophageal mucosal irritation: after continuous contact with the rat esophagus 3 times every 30 minutes and every 20 seconds, changes were observed, but no changes were observed.

(4) Gastric mucosal irritation: Rats were administered three times continuously at 30-minute intervals, and slight gastric mucosal irritation was observed.

(5) Cytotoxicity: No cytotoxicity was observed when examining the effects on the proliferation and morphology of human fibroblasts and human hepatocytes. Furthermore, the cytotoxicity of commercially available disinfectants and hypochlorous acid water was examined using rabbit cornea-derived (SIRC cells), adult corneal-derived (ChangConjunctiva cells), and rat epidermis (FRSK cells). poisonous.

(6) Mutagenicity test: When base substitution mutants and frameshift mutants were used as the strains used in the Ames test, no mutant progenitor cells were found.

(7) Chromosomal abnormality detection: directly add hypochlorous acid water or add metabolically active system and then add metaphase cells, accumulate metaphase cells, and detect chromosomal abnormalities in DON cells, but no mutation is observed, I can’t do it.

(8) Human skin test: We investigated the safety of healthy adult men and women due to frequent use of hypochlorous acid water. Clinical trials are conducted in three medical institutions that comply with the Implementation Standards for Clinical Trials of Medical Devices: GCP. Rub your hands with running water for 2 minutes every day, K15 times each time, for 5 consecutive days. As a result, subjective symptoms such as finger dryness, peeling, slippery feeling, smooth feeling, itching, cracking, erythema, and disappearance of ridges appeared (23.4%).

On the other hand, although dermatologists found dry skin, erythema, and disappearance of ridges, they were all mild, and almost all cases recovered quickly after the study. In this way, even under the harsh clinical test conditions, the roughness of the hand is mild, and even after 5 consecutive days, it can be recovered after 1 to 2 days of rest, and it seems difficult to appear clinically problematic symptoms.
